From the back cover:
Christmas may be the most wonderful time of the year, but it's also one of the most stressful--and most expensive. Expectations run high, and it's tempting to whip out the credit cards to create the perfect Christmas, with lavish meals, new decorations, and the latest, greatest gadgets and fashions for everyone on your gift list.
Financial expert Mary Hunt shows you how to assess your situation, commit to no new debt, and think creatively about gifts. With Mary's guidance, you'll discover what caused you to overspend in the past and how to approach this Christmas with a plan. It just might be the best gift you can give yourself and your family.
My review:
From the beginning of the book, to the end, there are practical suggestions that will help you keep your Christmas debt free and stress free. With the examination of Christmas pasts, where you overspent and over charged and overstressed yourself, to shaping your attitude, developing a plan and following through with that plan. Mary will help you examine your life to find the cash to pull this all off. All of it is common sense things that we probably all know, but just tend to forget. Mary reminds us of all these things that we have learned in the past to save money.
This book is a practical guide to all of us. A great reminder that things often get out of hand and how to reign it all back under control. A great tool for young people just beginning, and a great reminder for those who have fallen off the frugal wagon. 230 pages $ 12.99 US 4 stars.
