Susannah Keim has been hurt by Matthew Yoder one too many times and she knows it is time to move on. She allows herself to court and fall in love with Herman Wagler, and now they are facing their first holiday season together. However it is not going as smooth as Susannah would hope, for one thing Herman is against spending Christmas with her family, his family is much more rigid regarding holidays than her family is. The disagreement is bothering her and she has been praying about the Lord helping her to accept her husband's wishes. The re-appearance of Matthew Yoder throws their lives into a tail spin. Herman is feeling a bit out of sorts over it all, and takes off during a snow storm which ends up causing him to become ill. Susannah nurses him back to health, and in the meantime learning more about herself, her husband and her new family.
I love Jerry's books, this one was not any exception. A great Christmas story! I enjoyed it very much. Great story, great writing, great holiday book, it was light hearted, an easy book to read highly enjoyable book! 141 pages $10.99 US 4 stars.
