Shane
Zimmerman had an Amish name but he was not Amish, even though he lived
in Amish country. In fact his father had left the Amish to marry his
mother, and while he had no aspirations to be Amish, he did love his
Amish grandparents, and he loved working with the animals on the Amish
farms, where he was called upon for his services as a veterinarian. A
young widower, he carried around a grudge against the vocation of
midwives and their practice of using herbal treatments after his wife
dies during her pregnancy. He blamed the red raspberry tea she had
drank, but it truth it was an aneurysm that killed her.
A reckless
driver has left midwife Kristi Lapp laying critically injured along the
side of the road. She was sure she was dreaming about the good looking
young man who had rescued her, but was surprised when he kept showing
up at the hospital to visit her, and was also surprised to realize he
was her new neighbor, the vet. The attraction between them is
measurable and the sparks fly every time they are near each other. Her
father Ira is determined to put a stop to all of this foolishness, he
cannot loose another child going over the fence.

is such a talented author, she pulls this story together and leaves you
ready for more! I loved these new characters in this new series and
while it stands alone, you have to hope we will meet Shane and Kristi
again. A beautiful story, that you will not be able to put down! 336
