REVIEW The Stars Shine Bright

Sibella Giorello
2012
Thomas Nelson
Fiction/Suspense

Raleigh Harmon is an FBI agent with a problem following protocol.  She is a good agent and puts her all into her work, but the suits just don't care for her methods, and are putting her under a lot of pressure.  In fact she is given a case and told she has two weeks to solve it.  She has two weeks to learn the horse racing business.  To learn who is fixing the races and who is making horses sick.  Seems like it should be an fairly easy case, but that is where the issues begin.  It isn't an easy case and it is becoming more dangerous by the day, with a fire that nearly kills her, horses dying, and Raleigh finds that she is on to something that is much deeper than fixing horse races.
This is the first book I have read by Sibella Giorello, and I enjoyed it very much.  I did however get bogged down a bit in the story, it required my full attention to keep everything straight.  The mystery was great, the action adventure was good too, there were just so many characters to keep straight.  This author is easily a new favorite on my list, and I will definitely watch for other books by her.  4 stars 400 pages $15.99 US.
