Off to the city for the past three years, Annie Weaver's has missed her family. She has been in her rumschpringe, and been staying with her aunt. However she has also been continuing her education and is now a RN, working at Mercy Hospital. Things are fixing to change for Annie and fast.
One phone call was all it took, and she was on her way home. Home to her family. Home to stay. Her father's accident meant he needed someone to help take care of him, while the other members of her family went off to work their jobs, Annie nursed her Dad back to health. Soon word got out that she had, had some medical training and people were sending for her to help them out when Samuel Yoder, the herbal healer from among the Amish people could not attend them.
Samuel did not know that Annie had become a RN until her baptism, when the bishop told the congregation. His attraction to her was amazing to him. There was ten years difference between them, but he could not stay away from Annie. Will Samuel find love again? Will Annie discover what her place is, in the Amish community?
A beautiful debut novel from Vannetta Chapman. This story of an Amish girl's desire to serve others and to find herself while staying Amish, will grab your attention and keep it. I enjoyed the story very much and look forward to more writing from Ms. Chapman. 273 pages $13.99 US 5 stars.
