The Bridesmaid

Fiction/Amish/Contemporary

Joanna Kurtz has been a bridesmaid several times, to the point her sister is questioning her about agreeing to serve for their cousin, in front of other people.  How humiliating!  A trip to attend her great uncle's funeral in Virginia brings her to meet Eben Troyer from Indiana, and begins a long distance letter writing campaign and romance.  Hard times are ahead, it is hard to maintain a long distance relationship.  A wedge between Joanna and her younger sister clouds her happiness.  What is wrong with her sister?  Why is she acting like this?
I enjoyed this book very much.  There were parts that struck me personally as being harsh, so that took away from the story a bit.  It is interesting to see into the mind of a writer, creating a character with a love for writing.  I totally enjoyed that aspect of the book!!  Over all rating of this book is a 4 star story!  Definitely worth reading and sharing with others.  316 pages US $14.99 4 stars

  1. I have read and love this book as well as all the other books Beverly has written. They all transport you into another world where people believe in and love God. They help each other when needed and ask for nothing in return. I am so amazed at how they live and work and prosper. The whole world would a better place if were more like the Amish.
