Book Blurb from the publisher:
Orphaned
in Iowa, Annie Kennedy moves to Boston to stay with her spinster aunt.
She longs for romance to fill the void left by her parents' death. But
when she falls hard for Steven O'Connor, the man who broke an engagement
to her sister, Annie is worried. Will he break her heart too when he
discovers who she really is?
With heart-pounding romance, intense family drama, and emotional twists and turns, A Love Surrendered is everything Julie Lessman's many fans have been waiting for.
My review:
What I liked about the story, was catching up with the O'Connor family, I have read the other books in this series, and it was great to catch up with them. It is funny how you start to feel like you know the characters personally when you follow a series. I enjoy Marcy, the mother of the family, oh so very much, she is a wonderful character.
What I did not like about the story, and it was not so much a dislike as it was just a "shakin my head" at Annie's rush to grow up, to become a woman. She was book smart but it did transfer very well to relationship smart. Also I hurt for her as she heard things about her sister, that broke her heart.
Conclusion: I like Julie's books, and while historical is not my favorite genre, I love the way that Julie brings this family to life for her readers. You will not be disappointed in this book! It can stand alone, but you do not want to miss the other books in this series! 396 pages US 14.99 4 stars
