My Stubborn Heart by Becky Wade

Wow, what a difficult review to write.  While I loved the story, there were things that made me pause and wonder why this book was published as Christian Fiction.  Becky Wade is a great writer, she easily conveyed her story, which was a story of redemption, but it seemed that the non-Christian theme of "hotness" overtook the leading characters thoughts entirely too much.  Kate's devotion to helping her grandmother is admirable, and also wanting to help Matt Jarreau, a former NHL hockey player find his way is again an admirable trait.  There were however just so many things about the story that puzzled me, the gambling for money, being a big issue for me.  So while I wanted to be able to give a glowing review of this book and easily say five stars, I instead find myself giving this book a 3 star rating.  I do believe that Becky Wade is totally capable of writing a five star book, and I look forward to reading more from her.
