Fiction/Historical Romance
Phoebe Lee, has escaped an abusive husband, lost a baby, and dedicated herself to serving others as a midwife, but now she has found herself in a situation, she never dreamed possible. Kidnapped and brought aboard a British privateer with her sister-in-law. Of course the fact that she is there, because her sister-in-law hatched a plan to save her husband, being held prisoner, does nothing to ease Phoebe's fear. In fact it infuriates her, that Belinda is so self serving that she was willing to risk the life of her unborn child and Phoebe's life to get her wishes.
Rafe Docherty has one purpose in life and that is to bring justice to the man who robbed him, and who caused the brutal deaths of his parent and wife. James Brock, Rafe will hunt him down to the ends of the earth if need be, but he is determined nothing, not even a mutinous crew led by his own uncle will stop him. How to bring all this about and to keep the women from harm however escapes him.
This book was delightful, first of all while there were deaths as part of the story, they weren't the leading factor of the story, as you find in many historical novels. Secondly there is lots of action, never a dull moment when Phoebe and Rafe clash, over and over again. I enjoyed this book immensely and easily give it a 5 star rating!! 375 pages $14.99 US 5 stars.
