River's Song

CBR Review:
This book was awesome, I know I always say this, about Melody Carlson's books, but they just seem to get better each time I read a new one.  I loved the whole story of how Anna found herself by returning home to her beloved river.
I was amazed at how cruel her mother-in-law was to Anna, and how Anna just seemed to take it all, and turn within herself, I loved that she felt the river healed her hurts.  This story was amazing, and complex.  The family ties were stretched on every side, the history of Anna's family distressed her mother and her mother-in-law, each for different reasons. I cried in sympathy as Anna relived the days of hurt and horror at the hands of a evil mother-in-law, the agony she faced as she took care of a husband who was not only physically injured by the war, but mentally injured as well.  I rejoiced as she made new friends, and started learning to take a stand for her own interests.   An amazingly beautiful story of how God can take our hurts and turn the bad into things that are good.  Definitely a 5 star rating from me!
