Jenny, was a war correspondent with a love for the children who were feeling the effects of the war.  Orphaned, hungry and living on the streets, they tugged at Jenny's heartstrings.  Unfortunately the rebels and terrorists behind the war, was not happy with her reporting and a car bomb injured her very seriously.  She is unsure if she will ever be able to report again.  Her heart is broken for the children she cannot help, but returning to her Grossmudder's home in Lancaster County she feels the love of family.
She also feels the love of the young man whom she had a crush on as a teenager, well she feels love towards him and his young children.  Left a widower with three young children, his plight and his children tug at Jenny's heart.
The Amish elders are not sure about Jenny though, is she there to disrupt the life of the community.  Will she draw their young into the Englisch world.  After all, her own father left the Amish community and lived in the Englisch world.
Jenny heals physically and emotionally while with her Grossmudder, will she go back to her own world or stay in the warmth of the community where she finds herself falling in love with an Amish man and his children.
Barbara Cameron has written a wonderful story!  I truly enjoyed it very much, with a different twist from other authors of Amish fiction, she brings a story guaranteed to keep your attention.  279 pages $14.99 US 4 stars.
