Jayne Tate is a reporter, a features writer.  And she has hit a wall, only she doesn't realize it, however her editor does, and sends Jayne on a mandatory vacation.  Ever the reporter, in a mode for a story, Jayne decides to explore the Amish in her state.
Contacting a builder of Amish furniture, she finds herself face to face with Levi Burkholder.  He is able to put her in contact with an Amish family who allows her to come to stay with them.  Jayne has an immediate attraction to Levi, which she tries to brush off as nothing, since she has a boyfriend back in Portland.
Settling in with the family, and quickly realizing this is Levi's family, Jayne begins to realize that her past is coming to haunt her.  Realizing that families can be close and don't need pushed away, Jayne has regrets about her contact or lack of contact with her family.
This story is a wonderfully written story of family, faith and discovery.  Jayne has been a bit of a rebel, but will this experience cause her to reach out to her family and reconnect?  What about her attraction to Levi?  What will happen there?  An Amish story like none other I have read, this book is a 5 star story!  You dont want to miss Plain Jayne.  289 pages US $13.99 5 stars.
