OH my!! I normally do not gush over a book, but I have to say, I have found a new author to add to my favorite list. This book was amazing. Well written, easy to read, enjoyable, awesome storyline, are just a few words to describe Ruby's Slippers
Dottie and Abby Meyers, are two sisters who are on opposite poles, as far as you can be opposites. Dottie has stayed in Kansas all her life and taken care of the family farm and her mother, during her mom's last days, while Abby has been off working, as an actress. The one thing they have in common is the family farm, Ruby, their mother left it to them jointly. Dottie is convinced she will never leave the farm and hopes for the day, when she has saved enough to buy out Abby.
Never married, and nursing an old crush of high school years, Dottie is not sure she will ever find love, but God has different plans for her life. A horrible tornado injures Dottie and she is taken to California, by her sister Abby, to be cared for, and the farm is put up for auction. A mysterious man visits while she is in a coma and leaves a “family heirloom”, follow along as Dottie journeys towards finding the answers she has searched for all her life, concerning family, love and living in general.
