Desperate Measures Review

My Thoughts:
You know how you hate it when a close friend moves away? That is how I feel when I finish a series I have loved. And this was one of those series. This story picks up where the last book left off, and truly I personally feel you have to read all of them to get the whole story. I have to say there were some twists and turns and I joined Kate in wondering who really was the good guys and the bad guys. I loved that! Sandra Orchard is very talented in her writing, and I read the note at the back of the book and was surprised to find that the two main plants in the series were fictional plants. She did a great job convincing me they were real plants. My final thought: if you're looking for a series to keep you up reading all night, this is the one to read. 4.5 stars from this reviewer.

About the Book:
Researcher Kate Adams has finally pinpointed the medicinal plant responsible for tearing her family apart. She's certain that discovering its secrets is her only hope of solving the mystery surrounding the disappearance of her father. Kate will risk anything to find the truth--even her budding relationship with Detective Tom Parker. But more people than she can fathom are after the plants and going it alone just might prove to be a fatal mistake.

Award-winning author Sandra Orchard pulls out all the stops in this breakneck and breathtaking conclusion to the Port Aster series. Fans will not be disappointed by the surprises they find inside.
