The First Christmas

My Thoughts:
The First Christmas is the telling of the Christmas story. Of course this story has been told thousands of times over the years, so what is it about this book that makes it stand out? This book is interactive, at the end of each page, the story-teller engages the children by asking questions that help them relate to the feelings of Mary and Joseph as they experienced the birth of Christ.  Also something very fun is the quilt activity included at the end of the book.  A sweet book with beautiful artwork for you and your child to experience together. 4.5 stars from this reviewer.

About the Book:
The First Christmas, by Janice Green and illustrated by Violet Vandor, tells the account of the birth of Jesus Christ. Adults and children alike will enjoy snuggling up to share these thirteen colorful scenes and the engaging discussion questions as this timeless story unfolds. Even older readers may be surprised to learn something new as they read again of the Messiah’s birth. At the end of the book is a family quilt-making activity that offers the children an opportunity to color the pictures to go into a First Christmas Quilt.
