My thoughts:
Such a hard review to write. As a book reviewer you look forward to loving books, and when that expectation is not met you find it difficult to review. Where do I start? First of all I have to say Ms. Jennings did a great job writing, she provoked strong feelings toward her characters, however those feelings were not positive. Molly was not a nice person, she just wasn't and Ms. Jennings portrayed that wonderfully. So the writing was not at issue. The characters just were not likable and the story didn't ring true for me. I have to regretfully give this book 3 stars.

About Love in the Balance:
Handsome Cowboy or Debonair Tycoon.
How's a Girl to Choose?
Molly Lovelace dreams of a life without cares in Lockhart, Texas. She also dreams of handsome wrangler Bailey Garner, her ardent but inconsistent beau. The problem is, with Bailey's poor prospects, she just can't fit the two dreams together.
Then mysterious stranger Edward Pierrepont sweeps into town-and her life-and for the first time Molly wonders if she's met the man who can give her everything. But he won't be in Lockhart long and while it certainly seems like he talks about their glorious future together, she can't quite get Bailey out of her mind.
What's a girl to do with all these decisions when love is in the balance?

Cindy, it's totally ok when the review is not positive all the time. Don't feel bad. In the beginning I too didn't like to write a less than glowing report, however I've accepted that I won't like every book, for various reasons, and people appreciate honest reviews.
