Over the Edge

The Kincaid Brides
Book 3
Mary Connealy
2012
Bethany House
Fiction/Historical Romance

MY REVIEW:
I think this is my favorite book by this author to date!  While this book is the conclusion of a three book series, it totally stands alone, and while there are references to the other stories, they are not enough to make the reader loose the gist of the story.
I loved the character of Callie Kincaid, she was a tough Texan, who was determined to find the husband who deserted her, leaving her with a baby on the way.  She knew he was sick and had mental issues, but hadn't realized how sick he truly was.  Finding him, her original goal was to shoot him, but she knew once she saw him, that he was truly sick in the head.  She was a tough woman, but her trip to Colorado City, CO nearly killed her, literally, when the stage was held up, she held off four bandits with gunfire, and while she wasn't shot, the splintering wood from the stage cut her up really bad.  Being rescued by Seth, was a good thing, but she was trying to come to terms with the fact he was not a louse as she thought but ill.
A great story, with an underlying story of romance, and the redemption of a marriage started too early.  I loved this story, a great story, with lots of action and adventure.  Some hilarious moments that made me laugh out loud.  A great book!!  332 pages $US 14.99 4 stars
