DEA Agent Brock Martin and Texas Ranger Gisella Hernandez are creating a stir, and not just between each other's emotions.  Someone is not happy that they are in town.  After arriving in the small border town of Boot Hill, Texas, business seems to pick up in a hurry.  They are quickly made aware that not everyone in town is rolling out the Welcome Mat.  In fact they are not even sure the local law enforcement is very happy to see them.  However this will not dissuade them from investigating the location that the drugs are coming over the border, and who was involved with the drug smuggling.  Brock's car is blown up, Gisella is nearly drowned and a witness is murdered, but Brock and Gisella press on, they will discover who is to blame for the death of Gisella's boss and who is the leader of the drug smuggling operation.
I enjoyed this book, it took me a bit to get into it, but once I got into it, I did not put it down until I finished it.  The excitement of what is going to happen next will keep you reading to the end, I had figured out a few of the people involved in the crimes, but some of them were a surprise, and this book ended with some of the crime unsolved, which totally left the opening for another book in this series.  I look forward to reading how the series ends.  214 pages, $5.50 US 4 stars. Discussion guide included at the end of the book.
