Steph Vandergrift is an only child, who is used to getting her way. Her parents have voiced their displeasure at her idea of marrying Rick Manfred, a young man she barely knows, and for once in her life, she defies them, and leaves Baltimore to head to lovely Middleburg Virginia to marry her dream man.
Left at the altar, however Steph finds herself sitting in tears wondering what in the world she has done, when along comes the sweetest lady she has ever met. Inviting Steph into her tea shop for a hug and a spot of tea, Milly offers her a temporary job filling in for her regular assistant who is on vacation. Steph finds herself falling in love with the quaint town of Middleburg, and even more attracted to one certain citizen of Middleburg. Making friends quickly and finding a place to live, Steph is starting a new life. When Rick shows back up, willing to stand up to his parents and wanting to rekindle the flame. Now Steph has to decide is that what she wants.
An amusing tale, wonderfully written by Trish Perry, this book is sure to keep your attention. I enjoyed the story and also was proud to see young Steph, show her faith in God. Definitely a great book to read this fall! 246 pages US $9.99 4 stars
