Linda Huyard is nearly 18, her life is good, she is in love with Stephen, the bishop's grandson, and is sure he is soon to propose. However there is a secret past lurking and it somehow involves a beautiful English woman she has seen in town.
This English woman, Josie, showed up at her home and for some reason Linda's Mamm is highly upset. What is going on? Linda doesn't realize her life is fixing to change.
Old family friend, Jonas Miller (we met him in an earlier Daughters of Promise book) is ill, he has cancer and it is looking like the time is near. Linda is very upset, Jonas has been such a dear friend, it will be very hard to loose this dear man.
Yes life is changing for Linda, her life will be turned upside down, will she hold on to her faith, or will she walk away into the English world that seems to draw on her so hard?
Beth Wiseman is a wonderful author and has brought us another great book. 312 pages $14.99 US 5 stars
