When I saw this book come up for review I jumped on it, I have been a subscriber to Hungry Girl for the past 6 months and have read about it coming out. And I promise here and now, it is all AND MORE, it has been promised to be.
This book is more than a cook book, the introduction to the book is a fact sheet about Hungry Girl information. Then Hungry Girl gives a list of her favorite low-cal foods, and brands. Then the good stuff!!
Fourteen chapters of mouth watering recipes, all under 200 calories each. Recipes that are easily adaptable to your life and diet. You start out with recipes for Morning Mini Meals, then there are Egg-Stravaganza Recipes, also included are recipes for Mini Meal Mania, and Shivering Sips, which are Frozen Drinks, the book has recipes for Sweets, drinks, mini meals, and also recipes using certain brand names such as Cool Whip (fat free) or Vitalicious. Each and every recipe absolutely nearly makes you lick the page, they sound so delicious. Hungry Girl closes out this book with a list of secret food finds, foods that are low in calories and high in taste.
Just a few of the recipes that top my list to try are Crispy White Pizza (pg.176) Key Lime Pie Shake (pg. 201) and Double-Trouble Chocolate Trifle (pg. 323) So Low Mein with Chicken (pg. 142) I could go on and on with my list, and end up listing all 200 recipes. This book is simply amazing.
The art and the pictures in this book are gorgeous also, High praises to Chuck Neilds, photographer for the book, and Chris Everett, art director.
I personally have never been as excited about a cookbook as I am about this cookbook, 200 under 200 is a awesome cookbook!!
