A treasure, is the easiest way to describe this lovely book. It is gorgeously bound and in a lovely presentation with a wrapper around it. However the true treasure lies inside the book, inside you will find 50 of the most beloved psalms. They are coupled with wonderful devotions and each devotion is ended with a beautiful prayer. This book would make a gorgeous gift. Add to the loveliness of the book, in the back flap is 3 compact discs, that have a dramatic presentation of the Psalms. Read by great voices such as Gary Sinise, Richard Dreyfus, Michael York, Joan Allen and many many more. Backed with soft instrumental music you will find these compact discs, to be very soothing to your spirit and soul. The devotional is also read on the compact disc, making the listening experience a true pleasure.
Lori Jones has excelled with these devotionals, they are beautifully written, with many nuggets of wisdom and truly a joyful and beautiful reading experience. The Psalms are NKJV, and easy to read, adding to the pleasure of the book is several blank pages in the back of the book for your own personal notes.
As we look at the devotionals written by Ms Jones, we find titles such as God the Sovereign Savior (Psalm 18),Joy in the Fellowship of God (Psalm 63) Thanksgiving to the Lord for His Great Works of Deliverance (Psalm 107) and my favorite one of all was Meditations on the Excellencies of the Word of God (Psalm 119), where Ms Jones truly understood and expressed the love that the psalmist has for the Word of God.
This book will not disappoint it is a true treasure and I highly rate this book 5 stars. 101 pages, 3 cds 19.99 US
